Dear Golfer:

As soon as you arrive at Osage National Golf Resort, you realize you're at a special golf destination. Drop your bags at the bag drop and one of our professional staff will take your golf bag to your modern and clean golf cart. In the golf shop, you'll find a warm and friendly Midwestern welcome. At this stage, you'll have to answer a simple question:

“Would you like to play 9, 18, or 27 holes today?”

That's right—at Osage National Golf Resort, we have 27 holes—18 of them designed by Arnold Palmer. This means we are never over-booked so that you rarely find yourself waiting. If you want to play more golf (and who doesn't?) you can play…more golf. Choose one of three 18 hole combinations from these three nine holes.

  • The Mountain Nine
  • The River Nine
  • The Links Nine

If you have some time before you head to the first tee, warm-up on the range using fresh practice balls on good turf. Then sharpen your chipping and putting before the round at the chipping and putting area.

On the way to the first tee, you'll notice two things. First, the cart is clean and quiet and equipped with ProLink GPS. Second, the scenery is stunning.

There's one more thing you might notice: the pool complex at Osage National Golf Complex. If you have booked a tee time at Osage National and you have family members who would rather not play golf, they can spend a wonderful day swimming at the pool complex—leaving you guilt-free to enjoy the superbly-conditioned golf course you're about play.

Five Sets of Tees Means that Every Golfer Can Enjoy Osage National

Under sunny blue skies with a gentle lake wind, choose from one of five sets of tees. If you're a serious golfer, head for the gold tees and you'll get every bit of over 7,100 yards. Choose from the following sets of tees with approximate yardages depending on which nine holes you choose to play.

Par 72

Blue: 6,500 yards
Black: 6,000 yards
White: 5,800 yards
Red: 5,000 yards

There's a tee waiting for every level of golfer.

After checking in with the friendly starter, you'll notice each tee box is meticulously maintained…it's the same on every hole and you'll find that we maintain the Zoysia fairways and bentgrass greens to a high standard.

Most golfers at Osage National start on the River nine. The first hole is a short par-4 that's just 329 from the white tees. The fairway is wide, so you can use the driver. But don't stray too far - as there's water on both sides of the fairway. After a solid drive, you should have a wedge or nine iron into the green and you could be starting the day with a par or birdie. However, it's vital to get the yardages correct at Osage National, as the greens are large and undulating.

After a good first opening hole, things get tougher quickly. The 2nd on the River nine is a 445 yard par-4 from the back tees; it's one of the few narrow holes on the course, and it's vital to hit a good drive if you're going to hit the green in regulation.

The fourth on the River Course is also part of an excellent opening nine—it's thankfully only 134 from the white tees to a small-ish landing area; it's one of the most scenic holes on a scenic golf course.

A Beautiful and Gently Undulating Course with Wonderful Views

As you make your way around the Arnold Palmer Signature course, you will start to notice that Osage National is undulating—something that's rare in this part of the world. So you get better golf holes and wonderful views of the bluffs, the Osage River, and Lake of the Ozarks. You will notice that most holes have water, adding to the challenge and also adding to the natural beauty—in among the mature hardwoods…firs and pines…willow trees. You'll have to agree that Osage National is one of the most beautiful golf courses in Missouri.

How About a Cold Towel to Cool You Down?

In the summer months, we all need the beverage cart and you'll find a full selection of drinks on the cart. But the person driving the cart will also provide a chilled towel to take the edge off a warm day.

After Your Round—You Might be Told to Play Some More! By Your Family!

When you're playing 18 holes at Osage National, you will likely end with the 7th, 8th, and 9th holes of the Mountain nine; it's a great finish. The 16th is a difficult par-4 that's narrow. The 17th is a muscular par-4 at 484 yards from the back tees (387 from the whites) but the second shot plays spectacularly downhill to the large and undulating green. The final hole, a 455 yard par-5 is a birdie hole. On the second shot, aim at the large American flag that the course strategically positioned as the aiming point—it's right in the middle of the pool complex.

Speaking of the pool complex—as you arrive there to greet the ‘non-golfers', they will probably be having such a good time that they will say: “Go on—play another nine holes!”
